When it doesn't go well
Most of this site is written by someone whose dogs lived through their IVDD. I want to say that plainly before anything else, because this is the one part of IVDD we did not have to walk through, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. What I can offer here is plain company, and what the clinical picture actually means, from someone who came close enough to be afraid of it.
Two people tend to find this page. One is here because their dog is in steep decline right now, and a hard decision is close. The other is here because their dog has died, and they have finally been able to come back and read about it. The two need different things. Go to whichever one is yours.
