About this site

I'm Kryse. I live in Singapore with two French Bulldogs, Babi and Juju. Both of them were diagnosed with IVDD (intervertebral disc disease) in June 2025. I am not a vet.

What this site is

This site is what I wish I had found the first night Juju was in pain. It brings together two things. The first is our family's experience: what happened to Babi and Juju, what we decided, what it cost, and what recovery looked like day to day. The second is the clinical side. I did not work that out myself. It comes from published studies and published veterinary guidance, and I have tried to explain it in plain words. When I explain the clinical side, I name the study or veterinary guidance it comes from on the same page. A few pages are still being brought up to that standard. If you find a clinical claim without a source, please tell me. Our own bills are in Singapore dollars. The US figures are published prices from named sources, including one US specialist practice's all-in surgery package. Treat them as a guide, not a quote.
